STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO THE WORLD! Love yourself. Love what you have. :)

Last Wednesday during our English class, our professor read a selection about the world and the people being dissatisfied with what they have. It is entitled "Stop Comparing Yourself to the World" and I admit, it struck me. It says:

We are living in a "pathologically dissatisfied world." People, nowadays, would always compare what they don't have with others. We love to compare things. We compare our bodies to others. Americans would go for a tan and Filipinos would use different kind of chemicals for them to have whiter skin. Even those with moles, let those be removed. People would shed few fats while others would add a little fat that would, for them, make them look good. Not only we compare our bodies to others. We also compare our wealth, grades, gadgets, even the people we are with. When we feel that there are people who are much greater, prettier, richer, and the like than us, we feel deprived, depressed, consider ourselves as "little-higher-than-insects creatures", pariah, and a third class children of God. NO! We must not feel that way! Though we can't accept certain things, it is still a fact that there's someone who is much richer than who we are. Bill Gates, Tiger Woods, cast of the the sitcom Friends. They earn so so so much money. But what we don't know is that they have more problems than us.

So why do we need to compare our bodies, our talents, our gadgets, our grades, etc. to other people? I do compare many things in many aspects in my life. Even the pettiest thing, I compare. But after listening to the text last Wednesday, I realized that comparing can lead us to no good thing. It can only make us INSECURE of others, we would be PRETENDING TO BE SOMEONE WE'RE NOT.

And so, I'll try my best to love more who am I and what I have for I am so lucky I have these things right now, my good education, a home, my family, my friends, these gadgets and more. Unlike, other people who would do anything just for them to survive this very challenging life.

Stop comparing and START LIVING! Stop pretending and trying to be someone else. We are all created by God differently. Each of us is created uniquely. The text says, "THE EASIEST THING IN THIS WORLD IS TO BE YOURSELF." We must love who we are and what we have. Be happy. Be contended. :)

RIP President Cory Aquino :)

Saturday morning when I heard the shocking news about the death of Cory Aquino. Aside from being the First Woman President of the Philippines, she was the one responsible for attaining the democracy we are now experiencing today. I never had a personal communication with President Cory ever since, but I knew that she was VERY brave and VERY prayerful. She submitted herself to the Lord peacefully, knowing that as she leaves this world, something better would come up for her family, the Filipinos and our country.
You unite Filipinos during the 1986 EDSA Revolution and now you again unite Filipinos! :) You're the best, President Aquino! I, personally, hope that we, Filipinos, can do change in ourselves, in our relationship to other people, and to our country, of course. Let Mrs. Cory Aquino be an inspiration to each and every one of us TO THINK NOT ONLY OF OURSELVES BUT OF OTHERS AND OUR COUNTRY AS WELL. If Ninoy Aquino is a hero, Cory Aquino is a heroine. :"> Thank you, Mrs. Corazon Aquino! I hope you are happy with our Creator up there! :D

NEW HAIR daw =))

I want a new look. Hahaha. So, I tried playing with my hair, making it look shorter. And I took a picture of myself, having these: I posted one picture on PLURK and expected for comments from people with the caption: "Bagay ba? :)))" Majority of them were shocked and thought that I just had this "new hair." :))) Hahaha. What's the point of blogging this? NONE, actually. Hahaha. Joke. Now, I'm asking you, too, if it looks good on me. =)) I don't want my long hair anymore e. :)) Need change? Hahahaha. Yeah, maybe. --DAISY;)

06.17.09: Second Day Experience :)

Okay. I'm early today! 5 minutes before 7. :)))) English was the first subject :) As usual, the professor is late :)) Okay lang. Sana palagi silang late. Haha. So, since na sa harap ako, ayan na, napagdiskitahan na ko. :|:)) Kasi we were asked how was our experience so far in ust or in the college. :|:)) Then she asked me na, unang tanong. "Are you beautiful? Do you think you're beautiful?" Ako naman medyo shy pa. No answer :))))) And she said something I forgot, basta something na para dapat hindi ka mahiya, blahblahblah. Tpos sabi niya, you should say yes. :)) Ako naman, Yesssss. :|:))) Take note, nakaharap pa ko sa 48 kong classmates ng mga time na yan a. :|:)) Tapos un, tinanong na niya ko, how was your experience in ust blah blah. Ako naman, "It's very challenging, blahblahblah. Blah blah, interview. :|:)) Yun. Tpos we had an activity, getting to know our seatmate. :)) Buti na lang hindi niya na ulit ako tinawag for the sharing. :))) Para siyang Mrs. Cruz. Pero BETTER! :))) 8:30-10:00 is Math 101. First guy teacher. :))) Super seryoso niya habang chinecheck ung reg forms namin first impression ko, terror siya tapos after niyang mag check, nagpakilala siya and all. :)) 10:00-10:15 BREAK. Karen and I ate at Cerealicious. :)) Yummy :P 10:15- 11:15 Filipino. Ang boring niya nung una. As in super boring. Kinuha niya ung reg forms tapos tinanong niya kami what do we expect sa class niya. 1. Pag may sakit, we need to present a medical certificate. 2. Pag ikakasal na daw kami, we must present marriage certificate. :))" Okay sige. :)))) And then, napagdiskitahan niya pa ung Math teacher namin. Haha. Benta lang. :)) :P:P Soooooo. Last subject was PHL1A. 11:45-1:15. First impression ko sa prof namin, nerd. :))) Pero hindi naman. :P Sadyang Philosophy with Logic lang tinuturo niya. Theology na rin. :)) Again, sa last subject, nagpakilala ulit kami isa isa. :) After, tinanong ako nung prof, kaano-ano mo si Dr. Love, si Jun Banaag. Tpos ako. Uhhhhh. Ewan. Sa isip ko, tito ko un. :)) Kapangalan nga lang :)))) Yun. Ang bagal lang nung time kasi after magpakilala and all, nakapagdiscuss pa siya. :|:)) I remembered Ms. Lopez sa diniscuss namin. :| :) Philosophy came from philein (love) and sophia (wisdom). Third year days. :( :)) Sinulit niya ung time. Dinismiss kami ng saktong 1:15. :))) After class, with Karen again, KFC naman. :)) Then we bought BOOKS. Super kapal. :| Biology and Management subjects. Parang biology natin nung 2nd year mas makapal and mas malaki lang ng onti. And super liit ng fonts. :| Gahhhh.
Help me, Lord! :))) and Thank You, Lord! :)

06.16.09: First Day Experience :))

Hello. Haha. I'm not in the mood to study pa e. Kaya, magkkwento muna ako. :P Yesterday was my frist day in college. :) We left home at around 6:15. Commute with brother :)))) Since malalate na kaming dalawa, ako na lang mag-isa naglakad papuntang building ko, and I realized na ang layo pala. Haha. I never realize na malayo pala talaga. Haha. So, I arrived my classroom (408) 7:05 :)) Late, pati ba naman sa college. Haha. Pero, wala pa ung professor. Ang tagal nga namin naghintay e. :| Mga 7:30 na ata dumating. While waiting, sa super likod ako napaupo e, :)) naging friendly ako for the first time and met Nicole. :)) She's from St. Paul Parañaque. Theology was the first subject. Okay, unang una, nagdiscuss agad siya. Di man lang nag introduce. :))Pero she's okay. Hindi masyadong terror. :) We would be discussing the Bible, Old and New Testament, for the whole semester. :|:)) And she asked us to research about the 5 ways of Thomas Aquinas. :)) Ang galing nung 5 ways. Super true. :)) Thomasians! Research niyo rin! :P And our teacher (hindi daw siya professor e :D) was a former nun. :P:)) Biology was the second subject. Tapos she asked us to arrange ourselves in alphabetical order. :))))) It's a pre-assessment test. 10-10:15 BREAK. :)) Met Karen, again. :)) I met her sa confirmation e. :) 10:15-11:45 is Philippine History. Hahaha. :|:)) Pero, we had a little activity. :) And she's funny :) I like her. :)) Kahit nakalimutan ko mukha niya. :|:)) 11:45-1:15 is BA1 or Management. :))) This one is my favorite. :)) Benta niya lang e. Our last subject for the day pero dito lang naisipan ng professor na magintroduce kaming lahat. :)) So, I introduce myself. Blahblahblah. :)))) And then, siya lang ung walang diniscuss! :)) And early dismissal pa. :) Haha. During the day, I also met Lace, my seatmate. :D:)) After class, Karen & I had lunch sa Mcdo. =))) Want to know my seat? Here.
TEACHER'S TABLE
______ ---------------------- __**__
**Andito ako. :|:(( Sige lang. Madami pang nangyari kanina nung second day e. :| Pero masaya. :)))) I wish, MAMEMORIZE KO NA PANGALAN NG CLASSMATES KO! :)))))) Tpos eto. :| Dapat pe day ko ngayon. Di ako nakaattend. Kasi sabi there would be no pe class for the week, tpos di ko nakita nagupdate pala ung ASC na there's a pe class, orientation, and attendance will be check.
Help me, Lord! And Thank You, Lord! :))

Hello New World!

Hello new school! Hello new sched! Hello new schoolmates! Hello new classmates! Hello NEW WORLD! Lahat na :)) I admit. I forgot/am lazy to update my blogger in the past weeks. :)) Last April 22, 2009 was the schedule of my enrollment for college! I was a wait-lister in UST for the course Accountancy. Yeah, wait-lister. :)) Fortunately, there were many slots pa, i think. Anyway. WEDNESDAY. Enrollment day. I got inside the seminary gym of UST. I asked the wrong lady about some information needed. And I was slightly embarrassed. :)) Haha. Instead of the College of Accountancy desk, I went to the College of Science desk. Anyway. The enrollment process was organized. Again, only parents on the front door, blocking the door for the STUDENTS was the only negative thing! The Seminary gym was for students only! No parents! :)) Good thing my mommy is only there outside near the tv where parents can see what's happening inside. :)) So, I was enrolled and all. We went to the main building for the id picture taking and the for the uniform. After taking the ID picture, we went to the room for the uniforms. E there were many people pa. E, I was so hungry already so I asked my mom that we should eat first. We went to the mini stop outside ust. While eating, it started raining! So, we went back to the main building for the uniforms. The rain was so hard, kaya our pants got wet! : We went back in the main building not so wet, but wet. :)) Gets? Haha. The fitting of uniforms were so easy! It took us for 15 minutes only! : Supposedly, we would go to sm san lazaro to buy my contact lens. Since, we're wet na and tired, we went home na lang. :)) We took the almost-1-hour bus ride. Ang bagal, grabe! And ang daming stops. : Boo-yah! It was the best enrollment I've gone through! NOOOOT!! ::)) -daisyyy :)

So Long, Farewell. :)

Though "high school is not meant to last forever", the memories I shared with my batch mates and friends and the learnings my teachers and class mates imparted to me would last forever in my heart. :) As I reach my final chapter in my high school life, for sure I would never ever forget the memories and the bond I've shared to different people that made a mark in my life. March 26, 2009 would be the day. This day could be consider as one of my happiest and saddest moments in my life. This day would mark the end of my journey in high school and is the start of a new adventure and a complicated life, maybe, in college. GRADUATION DAY. Goodbye to my 11 textbooks and 11 notebooks. Hello to my lesser books & notebooks. Haha. Goodbye to the teachers I hate and I learned a lot from you and you've inspired me. Hello to the professors or for some, "worst persons in their lives" and I would expect something new and great from you. :) Goodbye school mates. In a way, you made me laugh. Hello different persons. I hope you would like me. :)) Goodbye CSR! Thank you for all! I will miss csr! : Hello, uhhh, ust? ac? Goodbye batch mates, sui generis. : I mean, see you later. It's a temporary bye! :) Hello new sets of batch mates. :S Ahhhhhh! Grabe. I couldn't imagine myself in a new school. :S I would share to you what my classmate, Vera Rosales, did-for our Graduation Song.
Graduation song I We’ve reached the final chapter, We’re turning the last page, The book is about to close, We’ll be going our separate ways… Refrain I: But this is not the end, We’ll stand by each other and make time bend… CHORUS: Graduation ain’t goodbye, Just a see you later, A temporary bye, We’ll see each other, Someday, Some way, 97 minds, 1 heart, We are here to stay… [Repeat twice after bridge] II Togas, gowns, and heels, Walking up the stage, Shaking hands, Getting our diploma, This was always our dream… Refrain 2: But this is not the end, We love each other too much to forget… (CHORUS) Bridge: Here we stand, For one last hand-in-hand, Singing our graduation song, We will not let this end… SO LONG, FAREWELL, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN…

ANG PAGTATAPOS ;(

Naisipan ko lang 'to ipost. :) My essay/speech in Filipino. :) I know, walang sense to. Hindi ko nga alam kung essay ba 'to or speech e. Basta tignan/read niyo na lang, if you like. :)) Super haba. :)) Ang Pagtatapos. Bow. :) With special participation of the class of Bridget, TOA, TCJ, & Rita. :) Gets?? :)) Basta. :P Comments. :)
ANG PAGTATAPOS Banaag, Daisy IV-St. Rita

Marami akong narinig, “Huling first day na natin sa CSR!” Sabay naging malungkot. Maraming Salamat! Sa wakas. Nasabi ko nang naging Freshman ako. Nasabi ko nang naging Sophomore ako. Nasabi ko nang naging Junior ako. Nasabi ko nang naging Senior ako. At sa huli, sasabihin kong naging ROSEÑA ako. PAALAM, CSR! ;)

A Speech of a Fourth Year Student Who Cares for Her Environment

This was my speech on our English class during the second quarter. It tackles environmental degradation. I'm posting this to share to you wha's really happening in our world today. Enjoy & criticize by putting comments. :) Thanks. This is all for my fellow youth. For my fellow youth who have much care for our environment. Who have much love for our planet. And who have much love for every person living. A month ago, our country went through a distressing catastrophe and thousands of families were affected. Typhoon Frank didn’t just sink M V Princess of the Stars but also part of Luzon such as the provinces of Iloilo, Albay and other parts of Metro Manila. This latest disaster left more than a thousand people dead including those in the vessel. Are you aware of the hail happened last year in Quezon City and the tornadoes in Bulacan? These calamities are unusual in our country. Isn’t it? These are some signs of climate change. And for what reason? Environmental Degradation. We are abusing the gifts of our nature. We are not taking care of our environment. This is very alarming since it concerns the place we live in. As said by Conrado de Quiros, a columnist in a famous newspaper, “I do not know which is more frightening, the death toll from those disasters or our factoring of it to a point where we now find a hundred people dead ‘normal’.” What am I trying to point here? See, what our country experiences is only one of the effects of environmental degradation. Our world is surrounded by lots of problems—food crisis, oil crisis, climate change, and deterioration of our nature. The degradation of our environment can be seen anywhere in our world. Hurricanes in United States, earthquakes in China and Burma, super typhoons in our country, landslides in Infanta, Quezon. Examples that our nature is being abused by us, people. Have you ever think of the bigger hole that this problem could bring to our world? Have you ever think of ways on how to mend the holes our world already contains? Or are you one of those people who contribute terrible things that obliterate our environment? In our country, we’ve experienced lots of effects because of the deterioration of our environment. First, flood. When raining. Just raining. You need to go through a flood already covering your car’s wheel in order to pass through that street. I, personally, experienced going through this kind of flood and I say that it is really inconvenient and hassle. We cannot only see floods in Makati but also in Manila particularly in Navotas. Classes were being suspended there just because of the flood reaching their bodies just because of a 30-minute rain. I know you already distinguish the cause of this inconvenience. Garbage. Let me ask you. Do you think your trashes at home being disposed properly? Where do you think your trash goes when eating in McDonalds or Jollibee? Yes, in the dump truck then landfills. Isn’t it? Once those landfills have already been occupied by garbage, there would be problems in locating our wastes. Second effect, climate change in our country. Like I said earlier, our country already experienced hails and tornadoes which are very unusual in our country. These are some effects of climate change that resulted to stronger typhoons each year. Too much pollution can alter our climate. Every day when going to school, I go through EDSA and I felt awful because I can barely see the cars a kilometer away from us because of air pollution. I know all of us are bothered with this. Right? Third effect, landslides. Our country is rich in mountains. Beneath these mountains are homes of thousands of families. These families are in danger every time our country experiences typhoons. Landslides could occur because of the undisciplined individual who never cares for our nature and still cuts trees without the approval of those in authority and they, too, never replace those. We, the youth of this generation, could do something. We could contribute something. I suggest 5 simple solutions that we, especially the youth, can all act to in renewing our planet. First, the using of straw. Is using straw really necessary? I am proud that my friends and I do not use straws because we think of the possibility on where that straw might be after we use those. It could be thrown in the rivers or could be the reason of clogging of the canals. By simply not using straws could be of great help in lessening our garbage. Second, the zero-percent people who smoke. I’ve noticed young people smoking. They smoke for the reason of getting “in” in a certain group. Isn’t that shallow?!? I, personally, really, really hate people who smoke. When people smoke, I disgust them. Do they think of the effects of smoking in their health and in the society they live in? This could only give them lots of diseases and could decrease their life span. Besides, it is just a single stick of disgusting nicotine that doesn’t contain any benefit to a person. If only our country would be free from people who smoke, our air pollution would definitely decrease. Third, disposing our trash in proper place. It is better if we only throw trash which is non-biodegradable. We must dispose our trash into proper location especially when in public places. We should not only avoid doing this but we must do it. It is just simple. Throw your trash in the garbage can and if there’s none, keep it first to yourself and then throw it if you find one already. Fourth, recycling. Recycling is as easy as playing computer games and checking our multiply and friendster accounts. If we enjoy those things, we will enjoy more recycling. In recycling, you pick anything that could be recycled and then make something that can be another product of it. You could even sell your finish products. You already have money and you do something fruitful for our environment. Lastly, planting trees. As I’ve said, lacks of trees are source of landslides and floods. As young member of this world, we are all called to plant one tree anywhere in this world. The more trees planted the better. Isn’t it? Also, those that are biodegradable could be buried in soils as fertilizers for trees. Instead of throwing them, they could be use in a better way. Trees are very important especially when we have floods. These are just 5 simple ways in renewing our world. With the participation of each individual, we could alter our world into a cleaner one. We are all involved in this terrifying issue. We are responsible for our world. Our weather is messed up and our life is fragile in all parts of the world. We do not know when the next disaster will strike. If we do not do something, more catastrophes will occur in our country. The typhoon Frank is just a warning for each of us that there would be a stronger typhoon that would hit our country. More lives would be in danger and we could be one of those. Our country, perhaps our world, is dying because of carbon emissions and our mineral resources are near to depletion. Things would be getting worse if we do not do anything. Let us all change our lifestyle. Let us not only rely on our government. Some of those in positions may be busy doing something. We need a responsible leader. We need a truthful leader. We need an honest leader. Even though, we only have several of them, we, as the youth, can do something. We could do something. We must do something. Let us all do a share in saving our planet.

No more EIGHT years. :)

TWELVE days of preparation. FIFTEEN minutes of performance. And only SECONDS to find out who the champion is. :) "For SEVEN years, there has NEVER been a championship trophy awarded to the GRADUATING CLASS.
